Ingredients Checklist:

Makes 4 mini pizzas

4 whole wheat pitas (greek pita bread or any pita bread)

12 Tablespoons marinara sauce or pizza sauce

1 cup cheese shredded fresh mozzarella cheese or cheddar cheese, feta cheese, your choice

Toppings –

Be creative here. It’s your pizza. Choose traditional pizza toppings or think outside the box.

Pizza night is a great way to use up some of those leftovers.

  • Jalapenos
  • Banana Peppers
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • sliced tomatoes
  • mushrooms
  • red onions
  • Roasted red peppers
  • Pesto
  • Pizza sauce
  • Marinara sauce
  • Alfredo sauce
  • Italian Dressing (makes a great base)
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh mozzarella balls
  • Fresh basil
  • Italian Seasoning

Pita Bread Pizza with Black Olive Jalapeno

How to Make Pita Pizzas:

Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400-degrees F.

Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil, or spray a cooking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.

Saute vegetables until wilted.

Place pitas on the baking sheet and spread with the sauce.

Add cheese and favorite toppings.

Shake on oregano and red pepper flakes.

Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until cheese is bubbling.

For a crispy crust, bake for 12-15 minutes.

Serve with Parmesan cheese.

Try these variations for your own personal pizza:

Some of my family’s favorite pita bread pizza recipe combinations.

Priazzo Roma:

Tomato sauce, small green pepper, black olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, Mozzarella, onion, and cheddar cheese.


Add Monterrey Jack, Parmesan, ricotta to the Roma variation


Meat eater’s Delight pile on the Canadian bacon but leave out the small onion.


Combine five kinds of cheese: Ricotta, Parmesan, Romano, Mozzarella, and Cheddar. Add ham and a bit of spinach.

Priazzo Napoli:

Add sliced tomatoes to the top layer.
