1 stick unsalted butter

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 to 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced

Salt and black pepper, to taste

In a saucepan, over medium heat combine the butter and heavy cream.

Simmer just until heat is able to melt butter then stir to mix well.

Stir in the Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes at low temperature.

Serve over Fettuccine noodles for fettuccine alfredo.
